JR East Railways has announced that there will be special Narita express trains that go all the way to Lake Kawaguchi, near the foot of Mt. Fuji this summer.
Because Mt. Fuji has gotten registered as a World Heritage Site there is expected to be a rise in tourists to the area. The train will run directly from Narita Airport to Lake Kawaguchi Station and will take about 3.5 hrs.
It will also stop at Shinjuku, Shibuya, Tachikawa, Hachioji, etc. for those who want to get off the train before Mt. Fuji
It will be 7,040 yen one way from Narita Airport during the peak summer months. In September the fare will drop to 6,840.
