6 Beer Gardens of Tokyo

It is that time of year again.

The cicadas are singing away, the heat is coming off the ground in dense waves of pure heat, and the people of Japan are turning to their favorite cool-down drink…

Nope, beer.

Japanese people love beer so much that there have a increasing large array of non-alcoholic beers (drink all you want, responsibly!)

And where best to drink beer but outdoors, among your coworkers, friends, or family?

Every summer beer gardens pop up all over Japan and get packed with people looking to get all you can drink beer deals in scenic places. I made a little video for you outlining some of the rich history of beer gardens:

 

Enjoy a nice hike up a mountain and then throw a couple back at the Mt. Takao Beer Mount.

Access: top of Mt. Takao. Get there by climbing up or taking the cable car up from Takao Sanguchi Station. There are different areas with different types of food at each station.

From mid-July to mid-September there is live music by young performers every Friday and Saturday.

For 5,000 yen you can get all-you-can-drink and a set course menu.
