A Dolphin-killing Theme Park?

“Heya gheys”

If you have ever watched the 2009 Oscar-winning film”The Cove” (or seen the South Park episode “Whale Whores”) than you know about the killing of dolphins in Japan.

I feel like Japan is a relatively well-liked and well-thought of country but it suffers from several PR issues. PR issues such as:

1. War-time crimes and talking about war-time crimes (actually anything related to the war is kinda touchy)

2. Territorial disputes

3. Whale/dolphin slaughter

I actually manage a Japanese anime/manga appreciation FB page and constantly get an array of pics posted to my wall about dolphin slaughter…

WELL….That is all gonna change!

Is what I thought when I read the title of this article, “Taiji plans to swim with, not spear, dolphins.”

I’ll give you time to read the article….

Finished?

“The town of Taiji, Wakayama Prefecture, made infamous by the Oscar-winning documentary “The Cove” about its annual dolphin slaughter, will open a marine mammal park where visitors can swim with dolphins, but will not end its annual kill, an official said Monday”

Yup.

Good job. At least the protesters will have a place to hang out while they try to mob Hatakejiri Bay fishermen.
