If you are heading to Japan, chances are you will end up landing in Narita International Airport, Japan’s largest international airport.
Although it is called “Tokyo, Narita” by everyone outside of Japan, it is actually not located anywhere in Tokyo. It actually takes between 1-3 hours to even get to Tokyo! (Time depends on your destination and what train you take)
Narita is in Chiba prefecture, a peninsular prefecture to the east of Tokyo.
The most notable thing in Narita is Narita airport, but there are some things you can see in Narita; the biggest and most historical being Narita-san Shinsho-ji (a Buddhist temple). It boasts a history of more than 1,000 years.
You can get to it from the airport by riding the JR line or the Keisei Line to Narita station.
